Group Name – the final name selected after much discussion and a vote by the majority of the group is … West Winter Park Neighbors without “Association” tagged on the end.
Roll Out Date – October 7th 4:00pm – 7:00pm. We have 4 full weeks of planning to be ready by our last meeting (Tuesday, October 3rd) before the event! Many of today’s meeting attendees volunteered to form a planning committee for the event (names listed below). We agreed on what to call the event:

Please self-nominate and /or provide your recommendation for the two available seats left of Vice-Chair and Secretary. Kindly be prepared to offer your nominations during the next meeting, Tuesday, September 19th at 6:00pm (arrive anytime prior to 6:00pm). It is important that we finalize the board seats and get the By-Laws confirmed to have our organization fully formed and functional as soon as possible.
We touched on the description of our Mission / Purpose and the By-Laws (see below and attached)
WWPN’s Purpose/ Mission –Extend resources and opportunities, preserve the culture and history, restore and maintain the a sense of community, unity and beautification of our neighborhood. (I edited this down to encompass what I believe we collectively expressed over the past several meetings.) Everyone now has the opportunity to review the draft of the By-Laws and our Purpose / Mission Statement and should bring notes and be prepared to discuss during the next meeting if so desired.
City/CRA Updates/ Reminders

CMET, Center for Micro-Entrepreneurial Training, https://www.tcmet.org (to learn more, please watch the video link accessible from the website) the business development provider for Lift Orlando, Lift Orlando, is willing to provide a collaborative program for our Winter Park Business Academy. I have a meeting set for this Friday, September 8th and an update will be provided if it is a fit, and if agreed upon with the NEC.
Reminder!
Winter Park Library will hold a Small Business Fair, Monday, September 18 from 10 AM – 1 PM.
Refreshments will be served. Presented in partnership with The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. Look for more details on the Library’s social media.
The Winter Park Business Academy, a Business and Entrepreneurship Program is coming to Winter Park, in October!
On a six-month pilot program, The Winter Park Business Academy, which will be a combination of one-on-one consultations, in-person training, online classes, and more, is the result of a partnership developed with the Natural Entrepreneurship Center! Stay Tuned.
